Gift baby chickens to our farm and you will help us provide a food source to children and others in an impoverished community while also helping us ensure a sustainable ministry.
Our chicken project began in September 2023, as part of a teaching partnership with an international trade school known as Young Africa, and we have been raising our chickens in rented facilities on their property while also teaching their students the practical application portion of their animal husbandry education (with classroom instruction by the school). Now, in 2024, we are expanding and building our own chicken houses on our farm. Once these new chicken houses are built, we will be able to teach chicken raising from our own property and continue providing a chicken supply to the local community.
From our farm, we provide a valuable service to the local community via fresh produce and chickens sold at wholesale to businesses and individuals who sustain themselves and their families by selling items in the marketplace. These individuals would normally have to travel hours inland to obtain produce. By selling wholesale, we are also able to avoid direct competition with local farmers who rely heavily on selling their own produce at retail prices in the local markets.
