We are excited to share encouraging updates from our orphan care and higher education assistance programs!
In Zambia, Muma has successfully completed her first term at university and will return in March to continue her studies. The transition from secondary school to university is a significant challenge for many young people, and it was no small adjustment for her. Yet through hard work, determination, and perseverance, she passed her first term!
Muma is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business administration and marketing, and we are incredibly proud of her growth and passion for learning. Her journey is a powerful reminder that when opportunity meets support, God equips young leaders to rise above their circumstances and walk boldly into the future He has prepared for them.
Her sister, Maggie, has just begun her final year of secondary school (Grade 12). Soon, she too will be preparing to pursue higher education, following in Muma’s footsteps. What a testimony of generational impact and hope unfolding before our eyes.
In Mozambique, Jose, our oldest orphan there, is entering his final year of secondary school as well. These milestones are especially meaningful in regions where educational achievement is often out of reach for vulnerable children. In both Zambia and Mozambique, orphans face numerous barriers to education such as financial hardship, lack of school fees, limited access to educational resources, and the pressing need to contribute to household responsibilities. Many children never have the opportunity to complete basic schooling, let alone pursue higher education.
Nelson, one of the young adults in our higher education assistance program, is nearing the finish line of his nursing education. He is completing his final internship and is expected to graduate in Arpril this year. This accomplishment reflects not only his diligence and commitment, but also the faithfulness of partners who have invested in his education and covered his journey in prayer. As a nurse, Nelson will be equipped to serve his community with skill, compassion, and Christ-centered care to bring hope where it is so deeply needed.
We are also grateful that all of our orphans in Mozambique have returned to school equipped with new uniforms, shoes, backpacks, and essential school supplies. These may seem like simple items, but they make a profound difference. They provide dignity. They build confidence. They allow children to walk into the classroom prepared and ready to learn.
None of this would be possible without the generous and faithful support of our financial partners. Your heart to see children thrive and your willingness to invest in their education is truly transforming lives. Education opens doors, fosters resilience, and equips these young people with skills that will impact their families and communities for generations to come.
Thank you for standing with us and believing that every child deserves the opportunity to learn, to grow, and to be given access to education. The same opportunity so many of us have been afforded.
Together, we are raising up a generation of leaders filled with hope and purpose.
