Meeting Critical Needs For Those Who Need Them Most
Relief Supplies for the Children of the Siloam Mountain Junior School in Uganda
You may remember our recent story of how Anthony and Valerie Rabak joined the Hope of a Nation team, bringing with them their work with the orphanage in Uganda. The school is nestled amidst the rolling hills of rural Uganda and serves as a refuge and boarding school for orphans—618 to be exact. This Christian institution, the only Christian boarding school and orphanage in the area, faces many challenges, but its spirit remains unyielding.
In February & March, the school administrator shared a critical need: they were short on food supplies, and they desperately needed more feminine hygiene products for the girls. The Rabaks stepped in, raising funds to provide 3,500 lbs of corn flour, 400 lbs of beans, and a month's supply of feminine products.
The corn flour is used to create their staple food known as “posho.” Combined with the beans, it makes a simple, nutritious, and filling meal. For the girls, receiving essential feminine products helped ensure that they could attend school comfortably, even during more challenging times.
Our future plans include assisting this school with agricultural and other projects that can help them become more self-sustaining.
