Finishing Strong in the Midst of Real-World Barriers
Nelson’s completion of his degree in Mozambique is a powerful reminder of what becomes possible when barriers to education are reduced. As we celebrate this milestone, we also ask for prayer for Muma in Zambia as she prepares for final exams. Their journeys reflect the perseverance, faith, and determination required to pursue education in challenging circumstances.
One of the greatest privileges of this ministry is walking alongside students through seasons that are not only academic, but deeply formative. These are moments where perseverance, faith, and opportunity meet in very real and often challenging circumstances.
In Mozambique, we are grateful to share that Nelson has now completed his degree program. Earlier this month, he finished his coursework, marking a significant milestone in his journey. His graduation ceremony will take place later this year, but the completion of his studies is already a moment worth celebrating.
Nelson’s path has not been easy. Like many of the students we support, he has navigated financial pressure, limited resources, and the daily realities of pursuing higher education in an environment where opportunity is not guaranteed.
When Nelson first joined the program, his story reflected a broader reality we often see—students with potential, but limited access. Education in this context is not only about academics. It is about removing barriers that determine outcomes long before exams are ever written.
Nelson’s completion is a reminder that when those barriers are reduced, even in part, students are able to move forward into futures that once felt out of reach.
In Zambia, Muma is still actively in her university journey. She is finishing her first year and is currently preparing for final exams over the next two weeks.
This season carries real weight for her academically, as she continues adjusting to the increased demands of university life. The transition from secondary school has required discipline, endurance, and focus, but she continues to press forward faithfully.
We are asking for prayer for her during this exam period for strength, clarity, and peace as she studies and tests.
Together, Nelson and Muma remind us that education is not simply about achievement. It is about persistence in environments where every step forward often requires overcoming real and practical limitations.
