Meet The Team

Tony Gonondo

Tony Gonondo serves as Hope of a Nation's Children's Director in Mozambique, where he oversees our orphan care program and leads our growing children's ministry. He is passionate about helping the next generation discover the same hope, opportunity, and love of Jesus Christ that transformed his own life.

A Personal Calling

Tony knows firsthand what it feels like to grow up vulnerable and uncertain about the future. Because others invested in his life and pointed him to Christ, he now dedicates his life to offering that same hope to the next generation.

From an early age, Tony carried a deep burden for children facing hardship. Even as a young boy, he dreamed of helping vulnerable children receive an education, have access to healthcare, and know they were loved and valued. Today, that childhood dream has become his life's calling.

Education & Training

Tony completed a two-year technical course in Preventive Medicine and Environmental Sanitation, equipping him to teach health education in schools and communities. He also earned certification in teaching English through a local language institute, studied culinary arts, and attended Bible School. His diverse training enables him to minister both practically and spiritually to the children and families he serves.

Experience & Ministry

Before joining Hope of a Nation, Tony worked as a chef and later as a translator with Xpress Eden. Since becoming part of Hope of a Nation, he has also volunteered alongside Mozambique's Health Department, assisting with community vaccination campaigns and other public health initiatives.

Serving Hope of a Nation

Today, Tony serves as a trusted mentor, caregiver, and spiritual leader to the children entrusted to Hope of a Nation. Whether helping a child succeed in school, teaching biblical values, providing health education, coordinating medical care, or simply sharing laughter around a meal, he seeks to reflect Christ's love in practical ways every day.

His Passion

Tony loves the Lord and has a deep passion for worship. His greatest desire is to see children grow into healthy, educated, Christ-centered men and women who become godly leaders, transforming their families, communities, and nation for generations to come.
